Strange blackmail case, and also a bit complicated.
searchanddestroy-110 February 2016
Hugh Marlowe is a happily married man telling his brother that he has an affair with another woman who blackmails him, for twenty five thousand dollars. He asks his friend to help him to get out of this jam. He tells everything about what he had been through. You have here a flashback scheme. An offbeat story, where you see this man attracted by a woman whom he is even not in love with, a woman not younger or more beautiful than his own wife. The blackmailer character played by June Allyson is quite unusual, I assure you, only for this the episode is worth. June Allyson is not the perfect housewife character which she was used to in the past, but not a femme fatale either. She reminds me a sort of Glenn Close in FATAL ATTRACTION. Terrific performance for June Allyson, I repeat. Watch it as a drama, not a crime nor suspense flick. Hosted by John Wayne for whom it was the only TV appearance, as far as I know; maybe I am wrong.
