New nostalgia network Start TV introduced me to this old series I'd missed entirely first time around, and it was a shock of pleasure to see two of today's brightest stars barely recognizable in earlier incarnations.
Cops Jon Hamm and Taraji P. Henson seem teemed up in some alternate universe: he with long hair and she with almost pixie cut. The story of human trafficking is still topical and forceful and the lesser known talent does fine acting, while Roma Downey is predictably dominant in her peculiar mastery of forcefulness and empathy in the lead role. It's also a pleasure to see Bonnie Bedelia starring in a series, though her talent is hidden under a bushel basket fulfilling the functional need to run the team and direct the action, a la Mark Harmon nowadays.
