Unfortunately, the second round (this season) between Sammy Jo and Alexis fails to live up to expectations. Young Samantha Josephine threatened to shove a pack of cards inside the tycoon's mouth. How crude. Is that truly the best they could come up with? Ol' Alexis called her a nasty word and she blanched. Not much fun in this rematch. They're both capable of much, much sharper notions, but it all depends on the scriptwriter. Back in 7.03, "Focus", now that's how to do it. That was big time fun to watch! See my review there.

Just imagine if Catherine Oxenberg (the original Amanda, and forever the best) had still been there. Well, at least Karen Cellini looks convincingly enough like she might fall for a sly dog like Wayne Northrop's Michael Culhane. Dex really is the guy for Amanda, but when he looked at her, instead of the powerful scene it would have been, just one sad waste, a sorry limping scene. Who cares now? Ol' Aaron Spelling really should have paid out that raise to the European royal-born stunner!
Aw gee, Diahann Carroll is back, still clamoring for her own spin-off show, THE DEVEREAUXS, I suppose. Let me see, since THE COLBYS lasted for two seasons, what would be the expected lifespan of Dominique (and sadly neglected burn victim daughter)'s show? The pilot? One big, big yawn.
