The Good, bad, and ugly
koohii14 October 2020
Some of these episodes are good entertainment. Some of them are funny because they were so dated, even at the time they were made. And some of them are just somebody trying to make a statement. This episode is one of the latter. The message is pounded into the audience's face with the sublety of a sledgehammer. Gangs are bad, m'kay? The ending is truly bizarre. Why are the police allowing this guy to collect all the confessions (none of which will stand up in court)? Why are they allowing this guy to dictate the terms of the gang's surrender? Why are they allowing him to decide who gets arrested, and who gets to go free? This is only slightly more believable than the episode where he and his partner get to go and smuggle automatic weapons into a federal courthouse with a congressman inside, and not get a serious talking to from security. This episode has about as much understanding of street gangs as a vanilla white guy in suburbia, whitewashed further by 1980s network broadcasting standards.
