- Jo Polniaczek: [to reluctant Tootie] Oh, come with us. It won't be so awful. I'm going. And I *hate* fresh air. It clogs my sinuses.
- Jo Polniaczek: No kidding? A pen pal?
- [chuckles]
- Jo Polniaczek: That's cute.
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Cute?
- [Jo nods]
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: Teddie's letters would melt the chrome off your exhaust pipe!
- Paul: Okay, when the lantern flashes twice, and you hear
- [imitates wolf howl]
- Paul: that will be the signal, and we'll all meet at the pond.
- all together: All right!
- Zack Peters: [aimed at Tootie] And go skinny-dipping.
- Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey: [frowns] Skinny-dipping? Won't it be a little cold for that?
- Natalie Green: So we'll wear gloves. Oh, and sweatsuits like last year.
- Paul: [to Blair] Just as long as you wear that perfume that drives me crazy.
- Blair Warner: [chuckles] It's gonna be an Aviance night.
- Nancy Olson: This hike is going to be so much fun.
- Jo Polniaczek: I hope you'll be more careful. I heard that last year you and Roger came back with poison ivy.
- Nancy Olson: We also came back going steady.
- Nancy Olson: Tootie, you have no idea what it's like being with a boy up at Cooper's rock.
- Natalie Green: [dreamily] His shoulders sheltering you from the wind...
- [nods]
- Blair Warner: [leaning forward] And then he takes you in his arms, and presses his lips to yours, and your insides turn to tapioca.
- Nancy Olson: Jello.
- Natalie Green: Scrambled eggs.
- Jo Polniaczek: [as if dousing everybody with cold water] With me, it's pastrami on rye.
- Blair Warner: [to Tootie] And you are going to feel the same way next weekend. Can you *stand* the wait?
- Edna Garrett: [pops in] Girls, I think you should take your long underwear on the hike. The temperature really drops at night.
- Nancy Olson: Not with the big boys in the next tent.
- [the girls laugh]
- Edna Garrett: Down, Nancy! There will be no hanky-panky with me and Mr. Fogerty there to chaperone.
- [heads out]
- Blair Warner: [to Nancy] They have to sleep sometime.
- [they laugh]
- Edna Garrett: [turns back] We'll take turns.
