- Natalie Green: ...Deep down she knew she was somebody... she knew she was...
- [Looks at what Tootie has written as her name]
- Natalie Green: ... Coco Chanel?
- Tootie Ramsey: I thought a stage name would make me sound more professional.
- Natalie Green: Tootie, that name doesn't make you professional, it makes you French and dead.
- Blair Warner: [walks in to where Tootie is auditioning for a Broadway play, sees the long queue] My, look at all these unemployed people.
- Tootie Ramsey: [trying to come up with another stage name] Ginger Curry...
- Natalie Green: Good, Tootie, when in doubt, name yourself after a spice rack.
- Blair Warner: [re riding in Beverly Ann's Winnebago] I can't go tooling through Manhattan in a barn on wheels!
- Jo Polniaczek: Think of it as a limousine with a chemical toilet.
- Tootie Ramsey: My name isn't even Ginger. It's Tootie.
- Cinnamon: [pitying look] No wonder you changed it.
- Cinnamon: Hiya. Can I borrow your pen for a sec? I had a pencil, but when I get nervous, I start to chew things, and I never auditioned for a Broadway play before, so I started to chew my pencil, and the more nervous I got, I just kept chewing and chewing, and I think I ate it.
- Tootie Ramsey: You ate your pencil?
- Cinnamon: Well, you shouldn't eat pencils, you could get lead poisoning and die.
- Natalie Green: Give her a pen.
- Tootie Ramsey: Here. Bon appetit.
- Cinnamon: [accepts] Oh, my name is Helen. But I was thinking about changing it to... Cinnamon.
- Natalie Green: Cinnamon? No kidding! Well,
- [introduces Tootie by her freshly-chosen stage name:]
- Natalie Green: this is Ginger Curry and I'm Ground Cloves.
- Cinnamon: Ooh, it is nice to meet you! What number are you?
- Tootie Ramsey: Three hundred and sixteen.
- Cinnamon: Oh, that's a nice number. I'm three-fourteen.
- Tootie Ramsey: That's a nice number, too.
- Natalie Green: [re Cinnamon's singing ability] Is she good?
- Tootie Ramsey: Natalie, your good is good. Christmas is good. This girl is phenomenal!
- Jo Polniaczek: It's Beverly Ann's first time in New York, and you want to spend it all on Fifth Avenue.
- Blair Warner: Can't help it, Jo. It's a homing instinct!
