I really liked this episode.

I must say one thing I loved was how Carl was for Laura going to the dance on a date. I am tired of all those story lines about how the father doesn't want his little girl to go out while he has no problem about his son doing so. Very happy that Family Matters didn't go this way.

I also did like Laura in this episode. She is less of an arrogant brat and more human, which makes me think the show has a potential to improve.

Eddie was great in this episode. The scene with him in the pink dress was hilarious. And he is a really nice brother, although paying someone $10 to take out his sister does seem kind of bad, lol.

Steve Urkle is cute, although I don't see why the Winslow adults were so horrified by him. Just seems like an awkward kid

Laura, you're breaking my heart

If Laura gets the slightest bit emotional, she gets me emotional. "What's wrong with me?", she says to her mom. There was nothing wrong with Laura. She was real. Kellie S Williams was fantastic, even at this young age. In this episode, she never speaks directly to Steve. That wasn't good. I love watching Laura and Steve together-but that was to come. In this episode, it's implied that Laura has a problem attracting guys. That premise actually runs throughout the series. As the shows go on, she has dates, but none very serious. The guys can take her or leave her. Only Steve worshipped the ground she walked on. Even at this early stage, there were hints that Laura and Steve just might end up together.

Nice to finally see an episode centered around Laura that doesn't involve her doing something wrong. Especially liked the sweet moment between Eddie and her on the porch.
