The Show Must Go On (#3.3)

Not a very bad episode. Watching Urkel walking in thighs was actually a very great sight. Because of the amusement of course. I also love that "seductive" walk he made that he had on stage. And him demolishing the whole scenery was of course hilarious even though very predictable, his poor drama teacher having to switch into home ed now...

Story of Carl getting a pager from Lieutenant was just meh, very predictable, common and boring, but because both are great actors it was not that bad!

And the highlight is of course us seeing Laura and Urkel kissing. Even though just for a play!

Urkel as Romeo

Warning: Spoilers
This is interesting for two reasons. First, Daniel Wallace (played by the same actor) doesn't seem to be the punk that he is depicted as in two subsequent episodes. Second, Laura kisses Steve in front of an audience! It was in the script of the play, but she could have backed out, knowing that she'd have to kiss him. I compare this to Season 9's "Out with the old," where she kisses him twice, in front of an audience. Just how far back did she start loving Steve?! I love everything that was Steve and Laura.

"This I do that?"

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we see Carl being evaluated by his Lieutenant (by picking up food and clothes to him), meanwhile Laura is cast as Juliet in the school play of "Romeo and Juliet", while Urkel replaces a sick student meant to play Romeo. I actually loved this episode, the first scene is very weak and forced, Lieutenant catches Carl doing housework and Carl insists he is the man of the house (which he absolutely is) and then (for humor sake) Harriete comes in dressed as a man saying "Honey I'm Home!" and giving a rose to Carl, this would be a funny scene if we knew this to be the norm in this house, but Harriete never gave a rose to Carl, never wore man's clothes, so this just felt forced and bad, in my opinion. The rest of the episode most that makes up for this lackluster intro, even though Carl's storyline doesn't have a great conclusion with the Lieutenant id does give a moral lesson aboud what "MATTERS" in "FAMILY". What makes this a 9/10 star episode for me? Of course, Urkel and Laura dinamic, I think since Marriage 101 it has never been this good, while the scene in the play was absolutely hilarious , the following scene was just as heart warming as it gets between these two; Steve"Why did you take the time out to pull me out of my misery?" Laura "I don't know"! Great stuff! 9/10 ********* Peter Shelby

Gotta admire the Urkman's undying dream of attaining Laura's affection. Hilarious antics ensue later in the episode, culminating in a heartwarming ending.
