  [Barney is still violently hiccupping] 

  Fred Flintstone : Hold it Barney! Here, drink this!

  [Forcibly pours the concoction down Barney's throat] 

  Barney Rubble : Yuck! Woo, that tastes awful! I, uh, I feel kinda funny, Fred!

  Fred Flintstone : What do you mean, funny?

  [Barney starts wobbling and blinking and making weird noises with his tongue out] 

  Fred Flintstone : Barney! What's the matter?

  [there's a loud "poof" and Barney disappears] 

  Fred Flintstone : Oh boy... .Barney, where are you?

  Barney Rubble : I'm right in front of you! Boy, you must need glasses!

  Fred Flintstone : Huh?

  Barney Rubble : That drink did the trick, Fred! The hiccups have completely disappeared!

  Fred Flintstone : And you with them, Barney! You're invisible!

• Fred Flintstone : I know a sure-fire cure in stubborn cases. Close your eyes.

  Barney Rubble : [does so]  How's that, Fred?

  Fred Flintstone : Good. Now don't peek.

  [breaks fourth wall] 

  Fred Flintstone : I read somewhere that hiccups disappear if the patient gets a sudden scare, and Barney is timid about sharp hatchets!

  [takes hatchet] 

  Fred Flintstone : Hey Barney, you can open your eyes now!

  [Barney opens his eyes in time to see the hatchet come flying at him and crash into the doorpost beside him, and goes into an even longer and more violent fit of hiccups] 

• Barney Rubble : [after an explosion in the garage]  Hiya Fred! Is it safe to come in?

  [giggles] 

  Fred Flintstone : Funny, very funny. What's on your mind, Barney? I'm kinda busy.

  Barney Rubble : Oh, nothing, nothing at all. Just passing by on my way to see the doctor.

  Fred Flintstone : The Doctor? What's the matter with ya, Barney Boy?

  Barney Rubble : Well, I got the hic-hic-hic-hic-hic-hic-hic-hic hiccups! Hic!
