Warning: Spoilers
My next review is Season 4's Kleptomaniac Pebbles, teleplay by Barry Blotzer. If features Don Messick as Bamm Bamm, Daws Butler as Baffles Gravel, a detective, a supermarket clerk and various animal voices. It also features Howard Morris as a detective, Jeweller Mr. Hotrock and various animal voices. After a game of baseball with Barney and Bamm Bamm, Wilma reminds Fred he promised to take Pebbles shopping with him. Just before Fred leaves for the store, Barney reminds him the next day is Wilma's birthday. So he adds looking for a present for Wilma to his shopping list, which Pebbles somehow intercepts! Fred gets to the supermarket and picks up the stuff on the list while Pebbles has also picked up lots of stuff, too, and helps herself to an apple. *Don't worry, Mr. Flintstone. They all grow out of it," says the cash register clerk, and then adds "That'll be 5 cents for the apple!" Then Fred and Pebbles go shopping for Wilma's gift. They go to the jewler's store and the only thing Fred can afford is a watch strap, though Wilma has no watch. Meanwhile, diamond thief Baffles Gravel aka Lightfingers Louie has his eye on a super-expensive diamond bracelet. When he sees the reflection of 2 detectives after him, he plants the bracelet in Pebbles' stroller. The store owner yells "I've been robbed!" When Fred and Pebbles come home, Pebbles gives Wilma the diamond necklace in the stroller. Wilma is touched but Fred thinks Pebbles took the bracelet. So Lightfingers visits the Flintstones' house and discovers Dino in the stroller. Dino chases Lightfingers who hides him in the garage. Barney takes Fred to the jewler's store, even though it's closed. Lightfingers meets them at the store and pretends to be Inspector Gravel of Rockland Yard. He asks for the pearl bracelet back and tells them "Cheerio and remember, crime doesn't pay!" The detectives catch Lightfingers and accuse Fred and Barney as being part of his mob. "If those 2 were a part of my mob, I'd be the laughing stock of the Underworld! Please don't lock me up with those simpletons!," replies Lightfingers. So the detectives let Fred and Barney go. By the time Fred gets back to his car, he's received several citations for parking violations! "Like you said, Fred," says Barney, "our Police Force is the finest!" Overview: There are plenty of gags here, like the horsefly that pesters Barney, Fred commenting how quick Pebbles' ride is and the elephant replying "What does he expect for a dime? A trip around the world?!" and Fred asking if a bag is real alligator and the alligator replying "Really, do I look like a giraffe?!" Fred compares Bamm Bamm to Joe DiRockio. Pebbles is starting to use her brain here and Dino can sense that Lightfingers (as sophisticated as his British accent may be) is no good. 8 pearl bracelets out of 10!
