After 3 years of humor from beginning to end, the Fresh Prince decided to try something different: a heart-tugging episode. It started out like most episodes, providing some great Fresh Prince humor. Carlton gets a pimple and thinks he needs Vitamin E. And why does he have a pimple? The senior prom is coming up, and he's nervous. At school the next day, Will tells a friend of his that he's beat. His friend pulls him to the side and offers him some speed just in case.

At the prom, will is asleep, and Carlton's girl is staring at his pimple. He asks Will if he has Vitamin e. Half asleep, he tells Carlton to check his locker, the place where he has kept his speed. Carlton finds it, and takes an extremely large dose, leaving only one pill inside. Next we see, Carlton is dancing like crazy, even break dancing! And then will realizes... Carlton is high on speed. And Carlton collapses.

Phil thanks Will for quick thinking and sound judgment. He even rewards him later with basketball tickets. Will doesn't accept it and tells him the truth. Uncle Phil gets really mad and makes him confess to the whole family. Will finally breaks down.

Great episode.

I have Literally seen all the fresh prince episodes. And from all the episodes, this is the one that stayed in my memory the most, because it's different. We're all used to the fun and all of will's jokes and everything... but every once in a while i whip out my fresh prince collection, just to watch this episode, because it makes me weep like a baby (which is something that I do like once a year, twice tops).

It really gets you, if you watched this series everyday for years... the sense of family starts to get in your guts, and when will breaks down and literally starts crying... I can't help but cry as well.

Overall, an awesome episode, my personal favorite. Just like the series, my personal favorite.

Ive seen the whole series for the third time already, and man...this episode is something else. The writers did a great job, but Will was amazing. Seeing Will being emotional and sensitive, is great.

Will always make fun of Carlton, but at the end of this episode he clearly stated that he is an decent and honest man. When Philip offered him tickets, Will could not accepted it, he was being honest, and when he cried, he made us clear that he is as hell of an Actor.

Watching Will Smith getting emotional and crying like this brought to my mind his scene in the Pursuit of happyness in the bathroom floor holding the door closed with his feet. Really shaken right now.

Underrated

This episode is very underrated. It still has comedy but the emotions and seriousness is what makes this episode great.

Amazing. The whole episode was funny af and then in the end we get the emotional scene with Will Smith. This episode couldn't be more amazing. Kudos to the cast

The thing that stood out most to me about this episode was Will Smith's acting. Will breaking down and crying and the end was an early sign of the potential he had as an actor, and we all know how that has turned out. Great episode!

Will is thinking of taking speed to manage to stay awake. Carlton finds the pills and thinking that it is vitamins he takes them and overdoses.

An episode on a serious topic. Of course it is not the funniest episode since it is more emotional, but we have some humor in it too. Mainly Carlton before he overdoses and dances like a maniac. I liked the emotional parts as well. This would be Will and Carlton in the hospital room.
