They go to but costumes for Halloween and Will and Carlton make a bet about who will get a date for the party.

A useless episode. Flashbacks before even 10 episodes have aired, really? What a waste. And when there are no flashbacks nothing is happening really. Even the bet between Carlton and Will is kind of stale. Hillary is just being funny by being herself, but without any real story as well. And it is nice to see Vivian singing and dancing, but again, no story line here. They really could have skipped this episode if they had no ideas for it.

They made a flashback episode in the first season

My mind boggles everytime I watch this episode. The sheer audacity of it all is something to behold. But its still Fresh Prince.

Brilliant Idea?

There have been many flashback episodes I've enjoyed over the years. Some have been excellent in fact. For example The Simpson's in the Episode "The Way We Was". That show was episode 12 from Season 2. We're not even 10 episodes into a brand new show and already a flashback episode. Which begs the question what is there to flashback to exactly. How long has Will been in Bel-Air?

A flashback episode with the other characters could have been plausible. Especially if Carlton had been the focus. (Carlton was my personal favorite character on the show). ...but an episode as such would have had no Will.

This 2 part show was a real head scratcher. JMHO.
