It has been stated previously that Joey's unawareness of the state of Utah (season 7:8) is an implausibility due to the fact that he knows of the city of Paris, France, which is continental (season 10:15; "Get your France-going arms away from me!"). However, Paris is an extremely popular city often mentioned in films, television, and on the very posters in both Joey's and Monica's apartments. Utah is largely a "forgotten" state and certainly less popular than Paris.
