The poster on the Guru's door is the same acupuncture poster that Phoebe has in her massage parlor in other episodes.
Robert Gant and Matt Battaglia, portraying the two men vying for Phoebe's affections, would go on to have regular (Gant) or recurring (Battaglia) roles on Queer as Folk (2000).
Phoebe's orange T shirt with a sunflower is from the French fashion house Morgan. The writing says: "Le tournesol nous fait tourner la tête." (= "The sunflower makes our head turn") followed by "Beaucoup. Passionement. A la folie." (= "A lot. Passionately. Till madness" - French variations on the loves-me, loves-me-not motif). It includes Morgan's famous slogan "Je suis Morgan de toi" (= "I am Morgan about you"). Morgan was founded in 1947 by 2 women to sell lingerie, and later expanded to women's clothing. In 1996, when Phoebe was wearing the T-shirt, Morgan targeted urban women 18-35 as sexy and proud of it: its main advertisement theme was seductiveness.
Jason (Robert Gant) and Dr. Rhodes (Richard Gant) are played by unrelated actors with the same last name.
