I agree with the last reviewer that this had to be the most over the top episode, and perhaps a little risque!
At least there is that subliminal suggestion. What were the writers thinkin'?
The proverbial mad scientist named Boris (none other than Vito Scotti), returns to the island, now practicing mind control and wishes to turn the castaways into ROBOTS. The suggestive part is that he has Ginger and Maryann just walking around ready to obey??? What? And we do get to see Ginger in a leopard skin swimsuit!
Of course there's a rebellion and Dr. Boris' days are numbered! Vito Scotti also did a very similar role on the MONKEYS, and he is the best at what he does. A natural if there ever was one. Dr. Boris is also assisted by Jocko, the monkey. Jocko apparently was a bit too "unrestrained" and reportedly bit Russell Johnson and Scotti, and more than once. He also appeared on the TWILIGHT ZONE and LEAVE IT TO BEAVER.
Notes are sketchy, but Jocko may have been related to the monkey of the same name who appeared in the classic 1925 silent, THE LOST WORLD and later cult films such as SCARFACE (1932).
Best of the rest is the Gilligan mobile, that priceless four door wood panel car with pedals! Absolutely fabulous and you wonder if that car is still around??? What a collector's item, the idea no doubt borrowed from the FLINTSONES car. WOW.
A MUST for fans from SEASON 3 remastered dvd box set in beautiful restored color.
