Worst of the Worst

Warning: Spoilers
I'll give it a high score because it's so bad. Toward the end of this show's run, this truly must be one of the worst episodes of this show and perhaps the Robo-Monster of sitcoms everywhere.

This one is truly bad, only salvaged by Sutton.

Gomer finds a 'wild' rabbit (white, whereas generally most wild rabbits are brown or grey).

Carter says give the rabbit away. Gomer gives it to Danny, the general's son. Carter finds the penned up rabbit, thinks Gomer did it, lets the rabbit go. Danny is upset. Uncle Ed! So now Carter is running after white rabbits. This emerges as the joke with rabbits running around like tribbles on Star Trek.

But what makes it all corny is Danny's insistence that none of these are his rabbit, named Harvey, because it had a black spot on it.

Number one, the kid didn't have the rabbit a day. He wasn't around it when Carter let it go, so it wasn't an intense bonding.

Number two, what was suddenly so 'special' about Harvey? This kid would be fine until Carter called him over and learned he didn't have the rabbit, then Danny was storming off upset.

Having just watched Proxy Poppa, it really is rather creepy in these episodes how Gomer seems to cling to the person or event that is supposed to cause grief for Sgt. Carter.

Worst episode of Season 5?

The weak, monotonous plot and the bad acting make it an episode that can be skipped. It is worse that a sergeant behaved like a whining sycophant at the whims of a miserable little brat.
