This episode really gets going in the 2nd half when Sgt. Carter finds out that Gomer has lost the colonel's daughter, who is a wild young woman or at least a repressed and adventurous one. They go looking for her in a go-go club where Gomer last saw her and watching Sgt. Carter try to navigate his way around a crowded go-go club is very funny. The Marines have stormed a lot of beaches, but not very many go-go clubs. Of course, they throw in the old gag about a guy with long hair mistaken for a girl, this time Sgt. Carter is the one who does the mistaking.
Rob Reiner has a small but memorable part in the go-go club. He's something of a freak and has just signed up for the Marines and asks Gomer if he will be able to get along in the Marines. Gomer tells him the best thing he can do to get along in the Marines is to keep his mouth shut. Ironic advice coming from babbling Gomer who can't shut up!
At one point the colonel's daughter gets her top ripped and it exposes her lovely breasts in a charming black bra. Quite a racy and wonderful moment for this show and for that era, which was all about being "wholesome" and family friendly. They slipped I guess, but it was for the better. A little bra exposure never hurt anybody and it added a touch of realism.
All in all a very fun episode. I gave it a "8".
