This episode has been mentioned as one of the five worst Goodies episodes. Although it is not one of the best ones, I don't find it quite that bad. The three bouncing toothpaste tubes are not funny for that long, but I think it is handled pretty well. The bouncing around the world is complemented by funny bystanders, and that is where the fun is. We see a zebra crossing in South Africa being used in a logical way, we see German beer-drinkers bouncing out their beers, and we see Rolf Harris bouncing by while singing his kangaroo song.
Also, the villains, Sparklipegs, the groveling henchman Minion and miss Simpkin are if not brilliant so at the very least funny. Minion is the funniest guest star, looking and sounding a lot like Eric Idle. Miss Simpkin is not the best attempt at making a (grinning but) good-looking woman funny, but far from the worst. She is not comedian on par with Mildred in "Cunning stunts" but far above just about anyone in "Caught in the act" or most ladies in "The Benny Hill Show". Finally, Sparklpegs himself is a perfectly decent funny villain. Much of the good sides in the episode comes from these three.
Although I still not rate it in the top, it is worth a middle-score rather than a bottom one to me. Just accept the three ever-bouncing Goodies as they are and look at the rest and you have a pretty good time. Remember, the Goodies didn't ask for neither bouncing or being dressed up, that is a villain scheme that went wrong. The result is an episode where unusually little of the fun comes from the Goodies themselves.
