Too many bounty hunters spoil the broth.

Warning: Spoilers
Paladin learns of a woman bandit who held up a stagecoach and stole $50,000 in the robbery. A bounty of $5,000 is set on Sandy's (Natalie Norwick) head, and Paladin rides off on another errand. After tracking down and capturing Sandy, Paladin is forced to take shelter in deserted shacks of a night. Other bounty hunters are also on the trail and will stop at nothing to get the reward ahead of Paladin. Sandy leaves markers along the trail for the other bounty hunters to follow, hoping something will happen and giving her means of an escape. Sandy falls in love with Paladin and the episode climaxes with a showdown on the second night. Guns blaze and justice is done. A sheriff and some deputies hear the shots and come to investigate. Paladin will not allow entry until the following morning.

Hard Edged Bandit

Natalie Norwick plays a really tough bandit who kills as she robs a stage of $50,000.00. $50,000 in 1870 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,136,301.53 today, so that was a huge amount of money. Palladin is tracking her down for the $5,000.00 reward, along with several other bounty hunters and law enforcement.

Palladin catches up to her first, and they spend a day together with Norwick telling him how much she hates men and why she was happy to kill them. Norwick tries to set up Palladin to get killed by other bounty hunters, by leaving bits of her clothing on the trail.

After Palladin kills off the rival bounty hunters when they try to kill him, Norwick flips her character and tells Palladin that she loves him. She is as passionate about her love for him as she was when she was telling him she hated men and enjoyed killing them. Norwick did not have a major acting career, but in this episode she delivers a great performance as someone totally psychotic, who would do or say anything to help herself achieve her goals. She was downright scary, and Palladin told her so as he turned her over to the Sheriff.
