"The sleeping Tiger of War", Paladin's friend, Tanaka, assures us, is about to be prodded into wakefulness by a radical cleric from Japan and his Samurai-bodyguard seeking to enter America by posing as Chinese refugees. Thus begins an episode that explores the politics of racial tension, the various responses it triggers, and the contrasting "solutions" offered by men who propose to lead society's marginalized toward full equality with the rest of its citizens. This is actually quite a powerful episode, foreshadowing the turmoil about to engulf 1960's America as the struggle for Civil Rights escalates, and is especially memorable for a strong performance from the young James Hong as a nameless Priest whose preachings clearly do not include "non- violence".
