The entry is really a showcase for actors Needham and Garner. There's some cursory gunplay, but the dramatic effect is more concerned with Buddy and Ginger's misguided romance than the usual shootouts.
Poor Buddy (Needham), he's lived alone while gold mining for five years, thinking only of his brief flirtation with Ginger (Garner), which he's idealized beyond all reality. In short, he's a naïve young man. So now that he's got a sack full of money, he's looking to re-connect with the object of his dreams. But instead of the sweet young thing he's idealized, she turns out to be a hardened saloon girl, eying his money. Good thing Paladin's around to help out.
Needham is in fact one of Hollywood's top stuntmen. Here, he does pretty well as an actor, certainly looking the trustful part. Garner, of course, was a top child actor of the 40's, whose unglamorous features here are just right for a dancehall girl. All in all, the entry's likely a matter of taste for fans of the series.
