Warning: Spoilers
Paladin is hired by Dark Leaf, an Indian Chief to go to Fort Benjamin where his son Yellowstar is to be hanged for killing Pierson, an Army officer. Dark Leaf wants Paladin to claim the body so it can be given the burial customarily for the son of a great chief.

When he arrives at the Fort, Paladin finds Major Blake (Robert Wilke) not only plans to dispose of the body in a lye pit, but that the circumstances around the conviction of Yellowstar are questionable to say the least.

The anti-Indian racial angle is played a bit too heavy-handed, and the casting of Herbert Peterson as the racist Sgt. Kern leaves a bit to be desired, and nor am I fond of Anthony Carusco in yet another Indian role. But the locations for this episode look great, and Boone is in top form, so I have to give it a pass.

Note that the dead officer, Pierson (who we never see) shares the same name with the show's associate producer and oft-time writer, Frank Pierson!
