When Rick is trying to purchase the lens, and the store owner tags the credit card as stolen, Rick runs out the door without taking his car. (It can be seen across the parking lot, with the sticker "Only the sun gives without receiving" prominent on the back of the car). It can still be seen over Danny's left shoulder when he is talking to the store owner. Yet, a few minutes later, Cass sees the car zoom by him on the highway, and takes off in pursuit.
Credibility is stretched by some of the camera and projection techniques. If Rick is on the beach filming surfers, how can he capture a shot of them from the side while they are riding the waves? There are also other odd angles in Rick's footage which do not make sense.
When they were viewing the surfing footage in McGarrett's office they saw a flash of light where the sniper was. When they rewound the film and asked the projectionist to enlarge it, there was a clear picture of the sniper. This would not be possible to do with just the projector and film.
As Tanner prepares to shoot his rifle, he is hiding in the flora at the edge of the sand near two people lolling on the beach. When he shoots Roger and then Rick, no one reacts to the loud rifle reports.
When the car rolls over near the end, you can clearly see the crash-dummy's head as the car first stops on its roof.
After Rick steals the wallet and escapes from Koa, his tires are squealing while driving on sand.
In discussing the murder, McGarrett says: "if they wanted to make it look like a killing, they would have taken his watch and ring", when he should have said:"if they wanted to make it look like a robbery...."
