The main plot idea from "Sign of the Ram" is pretty good--even if it is lifted, believe it or not, from the film "The Producers". However, given that it's season 12 (and seasons 11 and 12 of "Hawaii Five-O" were just awful), it's not surprising that they STILL managed to screw this one up and make an embarrassing show.
The program begins with a boxer leaving the gym--and seeing his manager getting shot to death! Who would do this and why? Well, the who and why are pretty interesting. What is NOT interesting is a kooky astrologer (Jayne Meadows) coming into the show for absolutely no reason other than comic relief. Her predictions are often wrong and she was just an annoyance. What's worse, a previous episode had a pretty much identical character (and that episode was bad, too) but to explain why a different actress and different character is in this one, they say that "she and other astrologer TRADED practices--and the other lady is now in Albuquerque"! Huh?! This made no sense--nor did much of anything about this part of the show.
The bottom line is that playing that character for comic relief is a clear sign that the series had long since jumped the shark (i.e., it was past its peak). Dumb and goofy--despite an interesting plot. Not worth seeing unless you are a die-hard fan of "Hawaii Five-O".
