Buntz (a terrific Dennis Franz) lets Sid the Snitch (an amusingly wormy Peter Jurasik) bunk in his apartment. Hill (sturdy Michael Warren) resents being paired with new transfer Sanders (top work from James Keane), who allegedly left a black cop hanging.
This episode proves to be pretty dark and rough: An irate and humiliated Calletano (a fine Rene Enriquez) gets demoted to advisor, Goldblume (sturdy Joe Spano) tries and fails to help out his struggling writer friend Merkur (well played by Scott Paulin), Sanders wind up getting shot dead, and a bust at a massage parlor that's a front for a prostitution racket falls through. Fortunately, Flaherty (solid Robert Clohessy) manages to confront Buntz about his beef with him and Buntz prevents a vicious hood from killing Sid.
