- TriviaThis 2 part story was accompanied by the Jeannie World Sweepstakes contest in which viewers could win a trip for two around the world and $1,000. All they had to do was correctly guess to which Mediterranean island Major Nelson was sent to by Dr. Bellows. Jeannie announced it immediately after the first show ( The Case of My Vanishing Master: Part 1 (1969) ) with a large world globe. The winner was announced 3 episodes later after Invisible House for Sale (1969). The clues were Mediterranean, wine barrel, pine tree, veal parmigiana, and that Dr. Bellows called Tony at 6:00AM & 6:00PM EST (12:00PM & 12:00AM Tony's time).
- GoofsThere are four instances of dialogue being drop dubbed (post production), that are different from what the speaker originally said, (judging by what their lips say).
6 minutes in, when Tony is on the plane before jumping out, he says to the two air police officers "There's one thing I know: we're going fast", but his lips say something else.
Three minutes later, after Tony jumps out, the two air officers are talking. The first one looking down out the door says "Sure is a beautiful place. I'd love to take a vacation there", but during the words "sure is a beaut..." his lips say something else. The tag end of the word "beautiful" (...iful) followed by "place" are on his lips but out of sync (ahead of the sound); obviously he originally said something shorter in place of "sure is a beaut...". His second sentence is intact; no dubbing mismatch. But the second air officer's immediate response "You'll wanna take at least a week", is completely different from what his lips say.
17 minutes in, when Tony is in the lab and tastes the food, he says "Veal cutlet. My favorite", but his lips say something completely different.

Double duty for Larry Hagman
"The Case of My Vanishing Master" was such a good idea that it's spread over two parts, Larry Hagman doing double duty as Major Nelson and his lookalike imposter. Dr. Bellows informs Tony that there's a security leak at NASA, particularly with his modification plan of the new Apollo 12 capsule, whisking him off to a top secret location to finish before he has a chance to tell Jeannie. Once out of earshot, the doctor opens another door and Major Nelson's double steps out, intelligence agent Rodney Pomfret, looking exactly like Tony with only a change in voice, an intentional plant by Dr. Bellows. Forced to prepare a gourmet meal for Major Healey, Pomfret arrives at the Nelson residence and meets Jeannie, first assuming that she's the maid, then treating her as Roger's girlfriend, wrong on both counts. Inquiring how they first met, Pomfret inadvertently proposes to Tony's genie, meeting the Arabian Reverend (Benny Rubin) that married her parents 5000 years before. Pomfret reports hallucinations to Dr. Bellows, who hopes to solve the riddle of Major Nelson, with Roger now aware that they're dealing with a phony Tony.
