One of the best episodes in the JAG series!

Warning: Spoilers
Catherine Bell (Mac) and David James Elliott (Harm) were both outstanding in this episode! I was very impressed with her showing of emotions after the stabbing scene, when she was attacked and almost raped by one of the hunters. I also enjoyed the chemistry that Harm and Mac shared during this episode, as their friendship grew into a more intimate relationship once they began to learn more about each other's back stories. I also enjoyed the simplicity of the storyline and also how the Harm, Mac, and Bud characters all played essential roles in telling the storyline. Donald Bellisario (JAG director/producer/writer) did a great job on this episode. Because of that, it will always be one of my favorites in the JAG series along with: Defenseless (Season 3) Death Watch (Season 3), Lifeline (Season 6) and Adrift Parts 1 & 2 (Seasons 6 & 7). However, this was the break through episode for Harm, in that it finally showed how sensitive and caring for others Harm could be when necessary. Whereas in other episodes before this, he was always so self-centered and so concerned with himself that others didn't really matter to him, as he didn't make time for them. I really enjoyed watching this episode each time the reruns aired on TV, but now that I have the DVD collection, I can watch it whenever I want.

Finally, our Dynamic Duo begin to trust each other!

JAG meets Deliverance - not quite!

The first glimpses of the Rabb-Mackenzie working magic, half-way through the first season of Catherine Bell's tenure as the third female sidekick to Harmon Rabb jr in JAG history.

This is a breakthrough episode, as our two characters begin to realise that some of their feelings run deeper. They work together (as a team) to defeat the "Baddies of the week" and the episode is a great adventure for Harm and Mac amongst the forest landscape.

Harm reveals a little more of the "Sarah" bi-plane background - and his absent Dad. Sarah "Mac" reveals a little more about "Eddie" and her early days of "professional drinking" before her Uncle Matt-inspired epiphany. We learn useful nuggets about their back-stories in this episode as we reach the mid-point of this shortened Season Two.

Great inventiveness and resourcefulness abound, as our hero and heroine battle a set of "baddies" who (a) can't shoot straight (no surprise there!) and (b) don't work as a team - enabling our Dynamic Duo to eventually emerge victorious after a might under the stars (romantic and revelatory, for the benefit of the characters' back-stories and their development).

The side story sees Bud doing a fair job of holding the fort, after Harm suddenly runs off for a day of flying.

But what a lovely old biplane!

"Full Engagement"

Warning: Spoilers
"Full Engagement" really deepens the Harm/Mac relationship that will come to define the nine seasons of JAG which they starred in together.

No courtroom drama in this one. Instead, the two are flying in Harm's bi-plane over the Appalachian Mountains when a mechanical incident means they need to land, and quickly. There, they happen upon poachers who have just killed a game warden, and are thus on the run from backwoods men who want to kill them. Back at JAG, Bud has to stand in on a case Harm was working whilst also figuring out what happened to his colleagues

Whilst it was pretty clear that everything would turn out okay in the end, there was still good tension and watching the way the two leads worked together to get out of their mess was superb. Good to see Harm opening up to Mac about his father, too.

Good acting, good action...good everything.

another time waster episode
sandcrab27725 January 2021
Patrick labyorteaux continues to show his incompetence while catherine bell continues to show her ignorance and forces david elliott to move from their downed plane location where she manages to get shot by poachers who have also killed a game warden ... our jag pair finally manage to elude the villains, fix the plane and take off ... a lot of time wasted in this episode
