Joey and the Husband (#1.7)

Warning: Spoilers
Alex's husband comes back from his orchestra tour and is a bit intimidated by the idea that Alex has a male friend. But when he meets Joey he is not worried anymore. This upsets Joey and he tries to find out why. Turns out he thinks Joey is goofy. And Joey lends money to Gina to start her own business only turns out that she doesn't want it as she is happy not to have too much responsibility.

I must say I agree with Alex's husband, Joey is goofy. This is why he makes the show funny. The husband is hot though. Joey trying to impress him was a very funny scene, especially because he made him think that he is gay and hitting on him

"I've got the dragons to prove it"

Alex's husband returns and seems a bit put out, at least initially, about his wife spending so much time with a single guy in Joey. That combined with a story about Joey (yes, he's in both story lines again!) lending Gina money.

The writer seemed unsure what to do with the Joey/Alex relationship, and turning her from 'friend' into a 'potential love interest' led to complications. I think they would have been better served to have her be a friend for him, and have another potential love interest come in.

It's a well played out episode though (especially the scene with Joey trying to prove to Eric that he's sexy), but the Gina story was weaker.

'Joey' as a show is often used as a punch line, but it's a far better show than people make it out to be.
