This episode became more famous for the girls having to virtually fight with the "Murphy Bed", that seems alive and wont go back into the wall closet it came out of. Murphy Beds are hinged on the base of the headboard and are taken down out of a special wall closet. Mostly known for in pre-1970s America. The gag is also an un-offical tribute to Lucy and Ethel on I Love Lucy (1951).
Although Carmine doesn't appear in this episode, Eddie Mekka still does the opening voice-over "Laverne & Shirley was filmed in front of a live studio audience".
