Oxymetholone (Anadrol) is not only a prescription only medication, it is a schedule III controlled substance. In fact all anabolic steroids are controlled substances, most of them are schedule III, though a few of them are schedule II controlled substances. So as ADA McCoy points out the use of anabolic steroids by the defendant not only violates MLB regulations, it is also illegal. Possession and use of oxymetholone without a legitimate prescription from a licensed practitioner is a felony.
