When Wally and Beaver are fishing together, Beaver spots a canoe that is drifting in the lake. Wally tells Beaver he should go retrieve the canoe since he already has his shoes off. A shot from the front shows his clothing is dry. As Beaver starts to go into the water, the camera switches to a shot from behind and he gets into the water up to his thighs, but you can clearly see that his shirt is already wet and has a water line at about the middle of his back where he was already in the water. As he gets out of the water, his shirt is wet up to his neck except for a section of his right shoulder. As he walks out of the lake, the camera switches to a shot of his back and his shirt is only wet up to where he first got into the water and not up to his neck.
Beaver gets his pants and shirt wet retrieving the canoe. His pants and shirt are just as wet after walking to the payphone, calling the canoe's owner and waiting for him to arrive to retrieve the canoe. In real life, Beaver's clothing would have dried to some extent.
The phone's handset cord at the receiver changes when Fred Rutherford calls Ward. The cord slightly changes position and pulls out of the handset between shots. When Ward hangs up after talking to Aunt Martha, it's back to normal.
It is never explained how Beaver's name is misspelled in the newspaper article. His teacher, Miss Landers, who suggested calling the paper, would surely have the proper spelling of Theodore in her class roster.
When Beaver goes into the lake to grab the canoe, there is an underwater platform for him to stand on, likely for safety reasons. It can be more clearly seen when the motorboat is towing the canoe a few moments later.
When Ward and June look at the newspaper article, the headline misspells Beaver's real name, Theodore, as "Theodour".
