- After being warned against roughhousing by the track coach, Eddie and Lumpy start a towel fight in the school locker room and the coach walks in just as Wally throws a towel. But when the other boys deny any wrongdoing, Wally takes the punishment alone and must tell his parents that he is suspended from the upcoming track meet that the whole family planned to attend.—shepherd1138
- Wally is excited for his family to be able to see him run the sprints in the track meet on Friday afternoon in Lynnwood, he who is considered the star of the team. Others going will be team manager Eddie, and third string shot putter Lumpy, the latter who will be making his first road trip as will his parents. Coach Henderson warns the entire team that there are to be no shenanigans leading up to the meet, with anyone who starts such being kicked off the team. Immediately following, Eddie and Lumpy initiate a wet towel fight against Wally, who retaliates. However, Wally is the only one who Coach Henderson catches horsing around, and as such is kicked off the team for one week and won't be going to the track meet. However, Eddie and Lumpy don't fess up to their part in the roughhousing and Wally doesn't squeal on them. Despite being disappointed in the situation, Ward in particular has no intention of bailing Wally out of this predicament. And even in the remote possibility that Eddie and/or Lumpy gain a conscience and confess their part to Coach Henderson, does it absolve Wally in his actions?—Huggo
