- On orders from Territorial Governor Gosper Wyatt Earp heads south to make peace when he learns that Old Man Clanton has sent his men into Mexico to rob the silver trains and steal the cattle of wealthy Mexican rancher Don Sebastian.
- Earp meets with Arizona Territorial Governor Gosper about problems with the Clanton gang crossing into Mexico to steal silver and cattle. The Governor wants peace plus Don Sebastian is arming his men with pistols and rifles. The Governor wants Earp to visit Don Sebastian to tell him he will be reimbursed for anything stolen by the Clanton gang. Old Man Clanton plans a raid but learns none of the men will follow his boys in place of Johnny Ringo or Curly Brocius so he sends the three alone with Ike in charge. While camped they are captured by Don Sebastian men. Earp meets with Don Sebastian to give the Governor's message only to learn about the three Clanton boys. Earp proposes a truce between Old Man Clanton and Don Sebastian saying Clanton keeps his word. Clanton signs the truce to get his boys back followed by telling Ringo and Brocius there will be no more raids. However, Brocius talks Ringo into a raid anyway but they are caught by Earp and Don Sebastian. Earp takes the two outlaws to Clanton who now believes that if his sons return, they will be dead. He offers Emma's hand in marriage to Earp but he refuses as he will one day kill Old Man Clanton. Earp returns to Mexico to see about the boys.—Anonymous
