  • After a pipe is thrown away carelessly in basement by a main character a massive fire breaks out destroying the Blind School.
  • Once the fire is raging in the basement, a woman smells the fumes and checks the basement. Only to be almost engulfed by the fire.
  • A young woman rampages through a hotel room, and smashes a window causing blood to her hands. Due to grief and shock of losing a her child not long before. Not graphic just distressing.
  • A man who lost his wife is seen yelling and arguing with his pre-teen son.

Profanity

  • None whatsoever as it is a family a family show, and it was not accepted in the era where it is set.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man who lost his wife in the fire at the blind school is seen heavily drinking in grief through the stages of the episode
  • 2 young pre-teen boys including a main character is seen smoking a pipe in the basement of the Blind School. One boy is repelled but the other enjoys it. They are interrupted when a woman catches them in the basement. The boys carelessly through the pipe away into a basket of cloths or clothes. The boys forget about it, and both leave. Later the pipe which is still smoking erupts into flame and burns down the Blind school. This scene is very tame, and not shocking as many young kids and boys would experiment with these things back in the era of the 19th century.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • During the fire scene at ten blind school, a blind young man warns his blind wife that there is a fire, they both leave carelessly forgetting about their own child who is in the room and in the bassinet. Very intense sequence.
  • A baby is countinuessly been forgotten while a fire is raging through the blind school.
  • Many blind children and adults are in pedal while a fire has broken out in the blind school, luckily most escape all but two.
  • A woman rescues a boy trapped in a bathroom while a fire has broken out in the blind school.
  • A Main character who goes to a bassinet and try's to rescue a baby soon become trapped in the baby's room while the fire barricades the door way and starts in the room, the woman and a baby is seen screaming and distressed while realising they can not escape from the burning room. Very disturbing and intense.
  • Later the same woman who is carrying the baby is seen from the outside smashing a window trying to escape while the fire is burning throughout the house, on the second floor of the blind school. While people watch helplessly from the outside. The woman who is holding the baby, Both are heard and seen crying and screaming for help, before sadly the flames consume them. Very disturbing and intense, due to the woman and the baby's desperate crys and screams to escape.
  • A father is seen giving the corpse of the baby who is rapped in its blanket to its young mother. Who then proceeds to creepily rock and hum a lullaby to her baby. Very disturbing.
  • Later the same woman descends into madness while still believing her baby is alive and is seen very emotional and in shock due to what happended, she also keeps singing the lullaby to herself.
  • The boy who caused the fire is seen giving the Young once mother a music box that plays the same lullaby later. She is seen distressed and yells out "My Baby" over and over again, while the boy crys and is distressed and runs out of the room.
  • This episode deals with the deaths of two people: a Main character's wife and a baby, both having burned alive in a flaming building. This has been dubbed one of the most tragic and dramatic episodes of Little House ever made.

Violence & Gore

  • A young baby belonging to a main character is killed when the flames reach him and a main character.
  • A woman who is a main character is also killed while trying to escape while holding a baby, trying to smash a window to get out. sadly we see the flames consume them. Not really graphic but very disturbing as you can hear and see the woman and the baby surrounded by flames through a window, while their terrified screams and agonised faces are seen.
  • A man is seen carrying a baby's corpse rapped in blankets from a burnt and collapsed building
  • A woman who was killed in the fire's corpse is seen later. Not graphic as her body is rapped in a white sheet, and is seen from a few metres away. A bit disturbing.
