After making a series of disastrous films, Harry Sylver finds himself out of a job. Roland then forecloses on a loan he had made to Sylver Screen Pictures, and appoints himself studio head. He soon woos June back to Sylver Screen Pictures to star in their next film, "Beyond Our Hearts." Meanwhile, it seems June's new-found popularity has gone to her head. The once sweet young woman gets caught up in her own hype and takes on the new persona of studio diva. Not only does she feel she needs to have authority over her wardrobe, she insists on changing the ending to "Beyond Our Hearts." However, when the starlet's wishes are denied, she throws a shameless tantrum and threatens to quit. After much begging and prodding from the director, it is only the harsh words of Sweeney, the new Head of Production, that can get her back to work. As production on the film draws to a close, June picks up a few tricks of her own and begins making power moves within the studio system. Before long, dedicated Charlie is out of the picture and new, more powerful players come onto the scene.
