The casting helps this episode. A white police officer is killed by a black youth. Next, we see Rossi in a patrol car with two officers, one white and one black. Then, Rossi picks a black reporter to go with him into the ghetto to get the story. Later, when Billie goes to work on the police angle of the story, she interviews a high-ranking policeman who happens to be black. As a result, you wonder if the producers are trying to be as fair and balanced as they can be, or if there is some other message they are trying to convey. At any rate, it's a thought-provoking episode that looks at the issue of cop killing from multiple points of view, as well as how one might be able to leave the ghetto, from several different black points of view
