Solid Love Boat Episdoe
ebach-264-9534843 April 2016
Solid and enjoyable Love Boat episode. I had not seen the show in years but caught it on one of the classic TV channels- MeTV.

The main highlights of the show concerned the captain's daughter, Vicki, having a crush on a rock singer. The lead guest star is Britt Ekland who is always great.

They rounded at the casts with some solid 70s character actors: Catherine Campbell, Alan Feinstein, and Steve Kanaly. I always enjoyed Steve Kanaly as guest star in 70s detective shows and his work on Dallas. It's not a classic episode but quite enjoyable.

Like most episodes had three main plot lines. They were Vicki's crush on a performing rock star being mobbed 20 something women. Alan Feinstein and Britt Ekland have a budding romance put on the rocks when Britt's insurance employer reneges on an insurance settlement. Final story is Steve Kanaly on the rebound from a bad romance.

Rex Smith! Rock Star!

Warning: Spoilers
It's Greek Night in the Coral Dining Room. Let's see who's aboard. Didn't we get enough Vicki in the last episode? Ok, ok, I'll try smile and bear it. Steve Kanaly (Dallas) is warned that he can't financialy bear a woman. He's avoiding Julie, and she doesn't understand why. Her aerobics class might put Steve off this silly notion of chastity. Or maybe that Italian movie! Cold shower time! Then there's Lois Hamilton down in the gym. Oh boy! Britt Ekland is here, along with the man she hit with her car. She's clumsy. He's injured. What a wacky, feuding couple! 'Welcome aboard the Hate Boat,' Isaac says. Vicki's favorite rock star is on board. Rex Smith! Rex Smith sings! She thinks he's interested in her. Alas, poor Vicki just can't compete with the big girls. 'Look at me. I'm no Suzanne Somers,' Julie says. (It only reminds me of the first episode of the series.) I sense heartbreak dead ahead! This is a particularly amorous episode and a nice reprieve from the disappointment of last time. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this episode get 3 * out of a possible 4 *.
