The travel agency that mails out the mysterious tickets is called McGuffin Travel Service. "McGuffin" is a term used in film studies for the goal the characters are striving for, sometimes without their realizing it until the end of the story.
Julie Harris played Lilimae on Knots Landing. Her character's daughter, Valene Ewing was the mother of the Dallas character, Lucy Ewing played by Charlene Tilton who also appears in the episode. Both share a scene.

One of the diners attempts to stand to join her and is stopped by his mother. The diner, his mother, and brother are the Cleaversfrom Leave It to Beaver (1957).
Elinor Donahue, Jane Wyatt: The two are sitting at the bar, and Wyatt tells her daughter, "remember, father knows best dear," alluding to the television show Father Knows Best (1954), in which they played mother and daughter.
Marion Ross, Tom Bosley: Captain Stubing's wife Emily, played by Marion Ross beats her Happy Days (1974) husband Tom Bosley at ping pong. Bosley says after the match he is going to lie down and Ross comments, "he's a cute guy."
Florence Henderson, Robert Reed: Known as Mike and Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch (1969). They are seen arguing about the kids as they walk down the companion way. He reminds her that the kids are grown during their exchange.
