Radar saying goodbye to the rest of the cast provides a few nods to the episode "Abyssinia, Henry." BJ gives him a kiss on both cheeks as Hawkeye did with Henry Blake. And in an earlier scene, Hot Lips kisses Radar much the way Henry kissed her.

Gary Burghoff would play Radar again with a couple of guest appearances on the spin-off series "After M*A*S*H," (1983), not to mention the failed pilot for his own spin-off, "W*A*L*T*E*R" (1984).
