Virginia Lee, who previously played Young Hi in "The Moose", appears in this episode as one of the two girls singing "If I Knew You Were Coming". She is the one without the guitar.
When Radar is talking to Hawkeye on the phone he says that they had SOS for dinner. This is an acronym for a common military slang, 'sh*t on a shingle', referring to creamed/chipped beef on toast.
This episode marks the third and final appearance of G. Wood as General Hammond on the series. Along with Gary Burghoff (Radar), he is one of only two actors to play the same character in both the series and the film M*A*S*H (1970).
Radar is half shaven and has a greasy dirty face while Henry is in command. The morning Frank takes over, he is clean shaven.
The comic radar is reading is Captain Savage and his Battlefield Raiders #10, a WWII comic. Although M*A*S*H is set in the early fifties this comic wouldn't be published until January 1969. By then Timely Comics would have changed their name to Marvel Comics.
