Only Margaret is happy: she and Donald finally have a date in Tokyo next weekend so they can hold their own marital peace talks. Radar is surprised his spleen is intact when he hands Margaret a telegram from Donald but his office door is a gone pecan. The camp mood is foul: Potter threatens the next person to snap at the Padre and is chagrined when he is that person. Everyone is exhausted. When Colonel Potter announces the Army increased the mandatory rotation points for discharge from 36 to 45, it hits long-time surgeon, Hawkeye, like a pile driver. Then, his pal Margaret announces her bad news; it all combines to send Hawkeye into a red rage. He pulls one of his zany stunts and ends up making the entire 4077 feel brighter. "Sub-moronic fruitcake" or not, the anti-green peace delegate gets a welcome home he will never forget. Major Dean Goss (Kevin Hagen) from I Corp brings Hawkeye a personal message from General Tomlin in Panmunjom...and fits in beautifully at the colorful 4077.—LA-Lawyer
- After hearing the Army has upped the ante on credits for a discharge, Hawkeye Pierce becomes enraged. He throws a huge tantrum, steals a Jeep and races up to the peace talks to try and convince them, in his own unique way, of why they should speed it up and end the cursed war.—<Explorerds6789>

The peace talks at Panmunjom are not going as well as expected, but says service personnel will be rotated stateside when they accumulate enough service points. Hawkeye has the most service points of all the people at the 4077th. Only Margaret is happy: she and Donald finally have a date in Tokyo next weekend so they can hold their own marital peace talks. But Margaret takes the news very calmly and says there will be other weekends. She is still happy that they are trying to work things out. When she calls Tokyo she finds that Donald has asked for a permanent transfer to San Francisco. She is livid.

Hawkeye is sick of the military green uniforms and wishes to see any other color, red for instance. Everyone is exhausted. He pulls one of his zany stunts and ends up making the entire 4077 feel brighter. Hawkeye drives a jeep to Panmunjon where the peace talks are taking place. He gets into the tents where the talks are happening. He says that he is a doctor from the 4077th and they received a call that someone was really sick at the peace talks. The MPs let him in. He speaks directly to general TOmlin (Hugh GIllan) in charge of the peace talks and tells him to speed up their job as people are dying out there.
"Sub-moronic fruitcake" or not, the anti-green peace delegate gets a welcome home he will never forget. Before leaving, Hawkeye wished for a more colorful army, so the entire unit dyed their clothes and hair red and welcomed Hawkeye back into their fold. Major Dean Goss (Kevin Hagen) from I Corp brings Hawkeye a personal message from General Tomlin in Panmunjom...and fits in beautifully at the colorful 4077. the whole unit stands between Hawkeye and Goss. Goss says that General Tomlin would officially lock him away if he is seen 20 miles within Panmunjon, but secretly wishes that he himself was a crazy doctor so that he could get away with what Hawkeye did. Goss joins the party.
