I Wonder What the Pay Was in Those Days
Mary is offered a job, producing a women's show on another station. This leads to tremendous soul searching on her part. We are made aware that she is barely able make enough to fulfill a meager budget. Of course, her co-workers are crestfallen. She knows what a great career move this would be, but she realizes she would be leaving her family. They throw a party for her which is an incredible downer. Ted is at his worst as a tiresome drunk, belittling himself. Murray says, "Someone put truth serum in the punch." Of course, we know it can't be the Mary Tyler Moore Show without Mary Tyler Moore. It's a cute episode. We get to see more of John Amos as Gordy on this one.
