The biggest difference with this fourth year, is the body count. It's the only Melrose Place season, where so many main characters died. First Brooke in this episode. And then Bobby and Alycia, a couple of episodes before the season finale. That is also packed with it. They even had this hilarious scene, when Sidney daydreams of pushing wheelchaired Jane, under a truck. Those pre-Brooke death's episodes, are my favorites of the season. For writers ability to make us care for this obnoxious character, and her downward spiral. Like Alison did, and was the only one doing so. The Peter/Amanda and Bobby love triangle, gets kind of childish, and I'm sorry to see Alycia being caught in the crossfire. Jane and Jake's romance, is not a storyline I like, but it's too short to care anyway. And happens during Jane's recovery. Michael and Kimberly's rekindling of relationship though, is a highlight of 4B for me. And even though it's a desperate move on his part, when Jane rejected him again. I must admit that they have this special chemistry together. It's also the moment the Sidney character becomes too stereotypical, to take seriously anymore. And Matt's drama, boring again. Jo and Richard go through the motions. One thing I dislike about this season too, is the fashion. Some outfits and haircuts don't look good on some of the actresses. But it's one of the most addictive season, where the show becomes a full blown guilty pleasure. With great songs from Louise Hoffsten and The Greenberry Woods, in this two hours episode especially.
