Possibly the funniest all-around episode of the first season

Warning: Spoilers
This one has the classic "Lumberjack Song" (in my opinion, even more iconic than "Dead Parrot") and the classic reaction to it ("Some of my best friends are lumberjacks and only a few of them are transvestites!"), and also the transcendental "Mountaineering" sketch ("Kilimanjaro has only one peak??? That'll save us a bit of time then"). But I had already seen those in "And Now For Something Completely Different". New to me were a hilarious Michael Palin as a bloodthirsty barber ("scissors, blood, murder, Hitchcock, "Psycho"!), and, best of all, Eric Idle announcing the arrival of a great artist on his show. This sketch had me laughing so much that I had to wipe the tears from my face. It builds and builds and builds and just when you think it can't get any funnier, the punchline comes. *** out of 4.
