Warning: Spoilers
"Mr Bean: Blind Date" is a 16-minute comedy special from 1993, so this one has its 25th anniversary next year and the title already gives away that it is a little Mr. Bean comedy piece as they included him as a candidate in an episode of the long running show "Blind Date" hosted by Cilla Black. I thought there were weaknesses here and there and not all the jokes were working, but that's fine too, even for such a short film. Oh well looking at some other comedy shorts starring Atkinson, it isn't really that short. After seeing it, I must still say that quiet Bean works better than talking Bean as the voice does not really fit the character that well in my opinion. Nonetheless there were some funny parts that weren't as much over the top as other weaker moments and that's why I believe this one deserves a thumbs-up and deserves to be seen. It's solid and steady from start to finish and no part really disappoints, but no part also reaches the greatness that the very creative idea could have resulted into. The ending was good though, I felt sorry for him indeed, but the very last shot will make you feel good again. Go check it out. Final note: It's a must-see for fans of The Good Wife. No more details as I don't want to ruin the surprise.

Blind Date

Bean is a contestant on Blind Date, hosted by Cilla Black, where he does his best to upstage his fellow suitors Rob (Paul Opacic) and Roddy (Alan Cumming) and cheat his way through the show in order to get a date with the beautiful Tracy (Barbara Durkin). He succeeds and in a sketch broadcast later in the telethon we see their date which plays out in true Bean style which, while enjoyable for him, proves less enjoyable for Tracy and fatal for some members of the hotel staff.
