It's now or never for Murphy to get a job.

The ingenious thinking of Corky Sherwood has FYI honoring Phil for his 70th anniversary, started by his father with Phil bartending starting in the Truman era. Murphy remembers the first time she met Phil and Frank on the very same day, coming into audition and running up against none other than Linda Ellerbee in the interview. Footage of Ellerbee from 1977 shows her as she was then, and Ellerbee is shown as she was in 1989 when she runs into Murphy. A little tour of the FYI newsroom goes by and ironically there is a young Miles, the young child actor getting every detail of what he would be like as an adult perfectly. Murphy in 1977 with a Dyan Cannon hairstyle and Frank looking like a combination of the Village People and Hal Linden hit it off after both of them accuse each other of hitting on the other. it's obvious that they're going to become the best of pals. we get to see Jim too, with darker hair and sideburns, trying to be more hip but actually quite square. This is a very funny trip down memory lane, that even in 1989, the show's first season, got lots of praise because people really cared about these characters, in addition to the quality of the writing which was consistently outstanding. The fact that they chose the day that Elvis died to set the 1977 footage on is a nice touch, for some people the day that rock and roll died.
