This isn't one of my favorites nor do I feel one of the best entries of the show in my book, but it's still fun even though this is one I don't revisit much. This episode also marked the entrance of Peril so that's kind of cool, also this is another unusual film which stars Robert Reed from "Brady Bunch" fame, which makes this the second entry of his for the show.
You have one short on farming which is actually pretty good. Along with the host segments, like that segment with Crow having a Vegetable stand business that well goes bust. Though one segment that's an honorable mention in favorites is when they all have a ho down which just cracked me up. We see Mike, Gypsy and Servo do a square dance or at least what resembles one. Crow is doing the musical lead which at first sounds cheerful but then quickly turns dark when he sings about a factory closing and a lot of other negative stuff.
The film itself is pretty much a poor man's version of "The Most Dangerous Game", I honestly don't mind knock off movies long as there's something interesting about them but most importantly entertaining; this film misses the mark on both counts.
I can't help but think if they made a remake of "The Most Dangerous Game" or at least a film inspired by the premise in the 60's that the cast of teenagers/young adults being hunted could consist of "Natalie Wood", "Steve McQueen", "Robert Redford" and "Audrey Hebburn. I know, I know wishful thinking and dream film but I'd rather watch that film with them that what we've got, though if it helps you can always pretend it's them which eases the pain a little.
There are a few really good moments in this episode like one fight scene where Robert Reed girlfriend whom is conveniently trained in Judo, has a scuffle with one of the scum henchmen, which I'll admit was kind of cool as that was something rare at the time; and a good death sequence which sadly is the only one we get. Really like the one riff that Mike says in that scene.
Another is a scene where the antagonist shows off his macabre exhibits. It's just funny when the boys mention how long it seems to take the antagonist to press every button to light up certain exhibits, which is true because it's that common delayed suspense cliché.
This episode is worth a shot.
