Professor Everett (Richard Long) shares a mutual admiration with attractive Ecology Professor Marjorie Meyers (Laraine Stephens). They set a date for a wild rock group. The professor gives the green light to gardener Al Bender (Alvy Moore) to cut down the hazardous tree outside his office window. At home the professor's children are bickering and Nanny (Juliet Mills) suggests planting a garden together. When Marjorie finds that Professor Everett would allow the tree to be cut down she is furious and refuses to speak to him. The theme is talking out your differences.
