Too Much of a Good Thing

When a pyramid schemer is garroted after accumulating a half a million dollars, the crime is nearly identical to one Don worked on years ago. He realizes that the guy in jail may be the wrong one, even though he was picked out of a lineup and ultimately confessed. Charlie begins to bring in statistical problems with police investigations, including fingerprinting. I really enjoyed this episode because it looked at possibilities.

Flaws in the system

Numb3rs did an excellent job showing where their were flaws in the system. This was one of the first and best episodes where they delved into deficients of the criminal process.

For the life of me, I don't understand how Bones lasted 11 seasons but Numbe3rs only lasted 6. Bones also suffered from decreased ratings. I liked Numb3rs much better because Agent Eppes didn't think people of color were automatically guilty. Plus, he had a team and trusted them. Where as Bones made it seem like Booth was a one man army who could take on the world.

Willfulness Project

Every crime show has at least one episode where somebody thinks they may have sent the wrong person to prison. Boring.

Krumhole works out totally bogus formulas that prove photo line-ups lead to bad identifications, therefore nobody should ever be arrested.

MacNicol formerly the weirdo goofball assistant from Police Academy shows up to say he has a headache. Judd Hirsh shows up to cook some steaks.

Eventually they come to the conclusion that some Serbian military criminal did the murders, and everyone else was innocent. We might as well just open the prisons. Nobody is guilty, it is impossible to rely on criminal science. Liberals win.
