This episode marks the final appearance of Roy Slater. He previously appeared in May the Force Be with You (1983) and To Hull and Back (1985). A teenage Slater would also appear in Rock & Chips (2010).
When Marlene arrives to collect Boycie she blows the car horn which can be heard clearly even though the Trotters live on the 12th floor!
The scene of Del and friends drunkenly singing along to the track "Mighty Quinn" by Manfred Mann has been cut from the complete Series 7 VHS from 2000 but can be seen and heard on the earlier 1994 Danger UXD (1989) video, so it is obvious that the BBC had the rights earlier but the record company has since withdrawn them.
As Del and Rodney are confronting Slater they remind him that he was charged with illegally bringing in 78 diamonds into the country which was the scam Slater had going in To Hull And Back (1985). Before he was caught the scam had been successful three times and 30 diamonds were smuggled in at a time totalling 90 diamonds. He hid 10 away for himself that the police still don't know about, which is Del's leverage for getting rid of Slater in this episode, but at the end of To Hull And Back it was revealed that two diamonds were swapped for fake ones from Delboy's cuff links. Slater doesn't question Del or appear to be suspicious about these two missing diamonds but a logical explanation could be that he had concluded some time earlier that Hendrick, his co-conspirator in Amsterdam must have cheated him.
